Welcome to ITOH ya coffee shop, a delightful gem nestled in the neighborhood of Meguro City, Tokyo. This charming café offers more than just your typical coffee experience; it’s a genuine nod to the traditional Japanese kissa, where the art of coffee brewing meets heartfelt community ambiance.

Upon entering ITOH ya, you’ll be greeted by a warm, retro vibe accentuated by antique furnishings and cozy booth seating that invites both quiet contemplation and friendly conversations. The aromatic scent of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, mingling with the subtle hint of toasting bread, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels like home.

As you browse through the menu, you’ll discover a selection of breakfast sets that are not only affordable but also deliciously satisfying. One standout dish praised by customers is the tuna sandwich, lauded for its flavor and craftsmanship. While some may desire a larger portion, the overall enjoyment of this delectable option reigns supreme. Pair it with a cup of their siphon-brewed coffee, known for its rich and smooth flavor, and you’ll find yourself wrapped in a comforting experience.

Reviews from customers express a shared affection for the café’s laid-back environment. JP Bautista relishes the tuna sandwich, despite a desire for a slightly more generous portion. Meanwhile, Ruby Wang describes her Sunday visit as a slack morning retreat, delighting in the crispy toast and cozy atmosphere—a perfect setting for breakfast or a leisurely afternoon tea.

For those who appreciate the classics, the unique allure of ITOH ya lies in its commitment to delivering a slice of traditional Japanese coffee culture. Edmund Yip captures this sentiment beautifully, sharing how the nostalgic ambiance and classic breakfast sets provided a relaxing family experience. With friendly staff and a dedication to the art of coffee, ITOH ya is a perfect stop for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the local coffee culture while enjoying quality food.

However, it’s worth noting that some customers have mentioned the presence of cigarette smoke due to the current smoking policy. While this aspect may affect wheelchair accommodation, it is a small price to pay for the authentic experience that ITOH ya delivers.

So whether you’re a local or a visitor, make sure to pop by ITOH ya coffee shop. Embrace the charm, indulge in comforting dishes, and savor the essence of traditional coffee culture in the heart of Tokyo. This is not just a coffee shop; it’s a cultural experience waiting to be enjoyed.

Tuna sandwich is so good! Though I do think that the portion size of the tuna could be better but I never really noticed it as I enjoyed it a lot anyways. Coffee is decent as well. The place ratings could've been higher if only there's a separate section for smokers. The place smells like cigarette smoke despite the nice interiors

Writing in English because I saw a few foreign visitors coming in and out. It's definitely popular but not quite ramen-restaurant queuing kind of popularity. Try it before it becomes so. This is a Japanese traditional kissa (coffee shop) meaning coffee is good and they come with affordable, time-limited breakfast sets. Add a few extra hundred yen on top of coffee and you get a fulfilling and quite creative breakfast. There are a few kinds of sandwiches, sweet toasts, and pizza toasts. The interior is on the beautiful side, but it completely allows smoking so that could be a dealbreaker for some.

Visted on a Sunday morning. The atmosphere is slack and it’s not smoky. I do enjoy the sando and coffee. The toast is vert crispy. Slightly more salad dressing but it’s my personal preference that I like less dressing. Overall it’s a place I will go again for a slack breakfast or afternoon tea time.

If you love homely, neighbourhood kissaten, make a trip here for the typical kissaten breakfast sets and syphon-brewed coffees. Retro booth seats and antique table amenities together with English oldies will help you relax and enjoy that quiet, old-time experience. Even my kids enjoyed kissaten!

Small cozy coffee shop. The feel of the place as many other stated--is old school and retro. Friendly staff. They use a coffee siphon whick is cool. A nice place to pop in and relax by yourself or woth a snall group of friends. They have variety of different food sets. Only down side is that they allow smoking so the place has a tinge of a tobacco smoke smell. They have a no talking on the phone policy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

If you don’t like smoking the this place is not for you, onto those of us who do smoke cigarettes you will love this place. I got the cappuccino and it was so so good, the food was okay i got the egg sandwich and the 7/11 ones are the best i’ve had in japan so i’d rather get them there than here . This place is definitely a place to chill and just soak in the atmosphere though, very peaceful.
